Foster Homes

Foster volunteers open their homes on a temporary basis, expanding our capacity to care for animals with special needs. We provide all of the training and support you could possibly need. Previous foster experience is not required.

Types of Foster Homes

Large Dog/Cause for Big Paws Fosters
Availability: Positions available

As wonderful as our shelters are, these dogs are happier living in a foster home as they wait for a permanent adoptive family. Let us know if you can open your home—and heart—to a big dog.

Adult Small Dog Fosters
Availability: Positions available

Many of our small dogs need a little TLC to help them gain confidence and feel secure in their surroundings. Small dog fosters provide enrichment and socialization to help our little guys emerge from their shells and confidently step out into the great big world.

Kitten Fosters
Availability: Positions are available, especially for neonatal kittens and ringworm cases.

During the spring months, we experience an influx of newborn kittens in need of 24/7 care. Our kitten foster families provide around-the-clock feedings and socialization until the kittens reach 8 weeks of age and are ready to go up for adoption.

Adult/Senior Cat Fosters
Availability: Positions available

Since our older cats don’t get adopted as quickly as the younger ones, they need a bit of extra attention. Our adult cat fosters give our mature felines a chance to live in a comfortable home with frequent human interaction while they wait for their forever family.
