About Schnitzel

Estimated age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Size: 66 lbs.
Location: Redwood City

Schnitzel has a scholarship for two free training sessions with a certified trainer from Underdog Academy.

Schnitzel is a very outgoing and social kiddo. This gentle giant is looking for a low-key home where he can rest and relax. Schnitzel's ideal home would offer lots of mental enrichment and some physical activity to keep his mind sharp and his heart full. Stop by our Redwood City shelter to meet this sweet pea!

Notes from volunteers on Doggy Day Out:

“Overall, Schnitzel was a good boy! He walked well on leash, checking back regularly, and following my lead. There was only a few instances where he pulled and bark in response or at the same time to a nearby dog of similar size. Many people noted how beautiful and lithe Schnitzel was, almost puppy-like as he took in the world around him. I did sense some separation anxiety because every time I sat down, he back himself until he was basically in my lap…We stopped by Stanford Shopping Center where Schnitzel seemed to be enamored with all the people and new smells, he had a hard time figuring out what to do first!…When meeting people, Schnitzel would smell then lick their hand, but would then turn away and pause. This was confusing until he started leaning in, basically backing into the person… for butt scratches! Schnitzel also seemed particularly excited when kids approached, judging by the thwacking sound his tail made with my pant leg. He was very tolerant of children’s petting, even when they unintentionally poked him…Our beautiful boy seemed exhausted on our way back to PIN RWC, hopped right into my car, curled up, and napped. Schnitzel must’ve been really tired — he didn’t get up when I left his room (after giving him lots of pets).”
